An Introduction

Welcome to the Wine Not Files blog. Here, we will go on journeys in the wonderful world of wine, whether we discuss current events, history, particular varieties, regions, and other things, this is a safe place for discussion and debate. I do not claim to know everything about any particular topic, and I know that there may be inaccuracies, and that is just fine.

First and foremost, what was the point where I knew that I wanted to get into this industry? In a very brief way, it was an “aha!” wine that I tasted in a tasting room in 2010 after being out of work for 2 years. It was at that point that I knew, in whatever way possible, I wanted to be in the industry. Fast forward to 2023, the vision began coming into a reality.

So, what is the problem with wine? Yes, I said it, there is a problem. For many people, wine is seen as for those who may have an elitist attitude, that it can’t be enjoyed on an everyday basis. Another factor is all of those descriptors you see, and what the heck are they supposed to mean? How do we make sense of that? Furthermore, there are so many wines to choose from, so how do we know what is good or bad, beyond an attractive label?

That is where I want to help you, to not only decipher all of this technical jargon, but also to dispell the idea that wine is only for certain occasions. I would like to help you know what the difference is between whether a wine is bad or if it simply doesn’t appeal to your palate.
